2020 has been a tough year for most of the people in the world. The corona virus pandemic has slowly changed the way we live. The impact of the corona virus pandemic in the education sector is also being felt. Academic activities are required to be carried out from home. Children, who generally enjoy learning together and socializing, must be willing to change their activities.
As a commitment to help prevent the spread of the corona virus pandemic, starting from March 2020, Pelita Hati School has implemented the Learn From Home program. Teaching and learning activities are carried out remotely. It cannot be denied that this is something new. All staff, teachers, and students need adaptation to this new habit. Adaptation difficulties must be faced for the common good. However, whether we realize it or not, the corona virus pandemic that changes teaching and learning habits has taught several things. At least three things below can help us reflect in taking lessons from this pandemic:
- Cherish every moment of our life
We may not realize how valuable time with friends was before the pandemic. Playing and meeting friends are common things until pandemic do us part for months.
- Appreciate our surroundings more
We’ve been learning from home for months to prevent the spread of the virus. Learn from home needs adequate facilities such as laptop, PC, Handphone, and internet connection, it is a privilege to do it comfortably. Thank God for it!
- We have a responsibility to take care of each other
Stopping the spread of the virus can’t be done alone. Everyone is obliged to protect each other. So please do social distancing and wear a mask when you go outside.
Let’s make this corona virus pandemic a moment for self-reflection. Together we face this pandemic with hope and commitment to prevent the spread of the virus.
